The Almost 3 Year Old Ham

Lindsay is keeping us on our toes as usual. She has decided she no longer needs to nap...so she "rests" which usually results in a nap but occasionally can lead to building forts out of pillows (see below) and putting stickers all over the wall next to her bed. Like her father, she is definitely a night owl...the other night I peeked into her room at 10:15 and she said "come on in mom, sit right here"...as she patted a spot next to her on the bed.
She loves to stand on her highchair and announce how big she is, to which I always state she is never allowed to get that big!
Lately Lindsay has also told me I am being ridiculous...WHAT!?!?...that's not okay!!
But we do enjoy our little girl's sense of humor and hope it continues to blossom as she grows!

Proud to be an American!!!

Happy Fourth of July! We hope you have a wondeful day. We are looking forward to spending some time at the beach earlier tomorrow...then we're off to my stepsister Katie's wedding in the evening...though we will exit in time to get home and watch fireworks with Lindsay. At the bottom of this post are some pictures from the fourth in 2008...fun to see the difference a year makes!

Father's Day!

Lindsay, Kendal and I showered our hard working man with gifts on Sunday morning and let him know how much we appreciate him.
We headed off to my dad's (poppy's) house later yesterday morning for lunch. We enjoyed the beautiful day in his yard and visited with each other. Grandpa Steve (Poppy's best friend since childhood) is visiting from France. We're always happy to see him and enjoy all the reminiscing he and my father do when they visit.
The girls love Grandpa Steve, especially because he resembles Santa...
Celebrating fathers is so special!!

Ready for Summer!

Heading out to enjoy the summer sun and in our summer attire...have I said lately how fun it is to dress girls...any time of year!!!

Spoonin'

Kendal is enjoying the novelty of using a spoon. She was quite tired of me feeding her decided to loudly protest, making known her displeasure of my controlling methods of getting her to eat. I started by giving her the spoon every few bites and letting her feed herself, but she would become belligerent and grab the spoon from my hand and throw it across the kitchen...I got the hint after wiping food from my brow for the 3rd time. Yes, giving up the spoon was not an easy thing for me to do considering the very large mess I am left with after every meal...but I had to let go. (I still cannot let her eat soup by herself...but at the moment she doesn't seem to mind...whew!!)

At The Park

It was an incredibly beautiful weekend. We went to a park close to our house that overlooks the ocean. It is such a pretty place and the girls voluntarily bypassed the playground to: run on the grass, peer through the holes in the wall at the ocean, pick flowers, collect leaves, eat gravel (Kendal), chase birds, climb rocks and pet various dogs out for a walk with their owners. We loved it so much we went back on Sunday and met my dad there. We're so fortunate to live in such a pretty place!!
