Photo Shoot Gone Wild!!

I had to attempt two different photo shoots to finally get a good picture of the girls for the holidays. I had my work cut out for me with an infant trying to crawl off as soon as she was posed. There were many points in which one girl was crying...Kendal was pulling Lindsay's hair, Lindsay refused to hold her sister for certain poses, Kendal crawling away multiple times, Lindsay being asked to put her chin down and placing it on her chest...oh the list goes on. I needed a shower after each photo shoot and a nap. Just getting the girls in their outfits was a chore. The first photo shoot Kendal's darling black bow looked like a bird sitting on her head, which I did not realize until viewing the pictures later...good thing I was already planning another attempt. As I look at the 100 pictures I took I can't help but laugh at the fact that I finally ended up with one worth sending out...and people say "oh just capture them in their natural state" can you imagine!

Kendal is 8 Months Old!

Our baby girl is growing and growing and growing. She is at least 20 lbs. right now and will more than likely pass her sister up one day (hopefully not to soon). Her latest nicknames are "the beast", "grumpenheimer", and "grumpy grumperson"...are you getting the picture? She lets us know when she is unhappy and it seems to be a lot lately. We keep thinking she is teething...she has no teeth yet and there don't seem to be any on the horizon...so we now feel it may be her demeanor and we're crossing our fingers she'll grow out of it. Oh yes there are times during the day when she is delightful but we would like those times to be longer in duration. She is very strong and her big sister is taking advantage of her amazing strength by hitching a ride on the back of Kendal's walker whenever she can. Kendal can stand holding on to something and is just about to crawl. We think Kendal's current disposition is due to the fact that she is frustrated because she cannot keep up with her big sis. We still enjoy every minute with her and love when she plays with Lindsay. Pray that we keep our sense of humor when she is fussing and whining...sometimes Mike and I just look at eachother and laugh at the chaos in our house.

Lindsay's First Trip to Disneyland

We took our first trip to Disneyland with Lindsay yesterday. I don't know who was more excited, her or us. Lindsay loved the carousel the most and I think by the end of the night she rode it 5 times. She had her picture taken with Santa for the first time and saw some real reindeer. The Christmas Parade was amazing and it even snowed real snowflakes...if you haven't experienced that for yourself yet, it's something you don't want to miss! Cinderella waved to Lindsay during the parade and she was beside herself to say the least. We went on The Winnie the Pooh ride at the end of the night, that definitely was one of her favorites. We had to purchase Pooh Bear on our way out of the park. She was fast asleep in her Mickey Mouse pjs by the time we reached the freeway...it was a day we'll never forget!

Oh My Grandma Would Be Proud!

Oh my grandma would be so proud of the fact that her great granddaughter is becoming interested in baking. This morning we made banana bread and she asked for a taste of some batter...of course I had to introduce her to the beater licking experience...she loved it!

Granny's 90th Birthday Party

We had a surprise party for my granny goose this weekend. She is now 90 and still going strong...we're so lucky to have her around. I love that Lindsay and Kendal get to see their great grandma or nona as we call her.

Playing Dress-Up

Oh just another fun evening of playing dress-up...the best part is when we dressed up the dog...we laughed for at least 10 minutes straight. I think she really liked her sequenced cape too, that made it even more hilarious. We sure know how to have fun on a Friday night.

Grammy's Jammies

Oh the fun we have in our jammies. My Grammy is here visiting from Texas and she bought Kenz and I new matching jams. If you know anything about my sissie and I we love to wear matching jammies...it makes us even more silly than we already are after our bath. We even take a bath together these days...my mommy thinks that is fantastic. This of course is not the only pair of matching jammies we have so stay tuned for more photos of us twinners (as my mommy calls it).

FLOWERS & FAIRIES

Lindsay is very excited about Halloween although Kendal is not quite sure why I want her to wear such a ridiculous outfit with an irratating hood. Lately when we drive anywhere Lindsay points out all of the Halloween decorations, if she is this excited about Halloween we can't wait to see what she is like come Christmas. We'll post pictures from Lindsay's school Halloween Party soon. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Kendal's Christening

We did Christen our baby girl in August this summer. I am a bit tardy in posting a couple of photos. It was a very special ceremony, especially with Kendal's two godmothers, Gina and Patti. The day would not have been complete unless we had a traditional Croation meal. We are happy Kendal Christine had a wonderful day. Mike and I feel content knowing how very blessed she is with so many loving people in her life.

Our Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

We took a family trip to Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch on Sunday morning. Lindsay visited the same place last year with her nina and her family. We all took a wagon ride across the acres of property the farm is on and watched some workers shoot a pumpkin out of a canon. Lindsay enjoyed the petting zoo with her dad. She was very timid at the beginning and those animals are quite aggressive I must say...especially if there is food involved. Once Mike distributed the food the animals mellowed out and so did Lindsay. We asked her if she would like to trade our dog Terra for one of the baby farm animals and her answer was a solid "NO"! Lindsay climbed on the hay bales and old fashion wagons for a while, picked out a pumpkin to take home then we called it a day. Kendal's favorite part of the visit was the bottle she downed during the wagon ride. We love Tanaka Farms and strongly suggest if you are ever in the Irvine area, check it out!

Kendal is 6 months old!

Our girl has made some big strides since we last wrote. She not only is much cuter, but she can sit up and roll over...just like a dog (I know that is what you were all thinking right now). Anyway we just love this girl to pieces and can't get enough of her smiles and giggles.

Sleeping Beauty

There is always something so peaceful about a child when they are asleep.

My Best Friend

Kendal has outgrown her carseat and has a new big girl carseat like her sister. Each time we get in the car now Kendal kicks her feet and smiles real big because she can see her big sister when we are driving. I always comment to Lindsay how much her little sister enjoys being able to see her in the car. This morning I was putting the girls in the car to take Lindsay to school and once again Kendal was smiling away looking over at Lindsay...I said, "Look at your sis smiling at you Lindsay" to which she commented back "She's my best friend mom"...I cried! What a moment to remember!

Kendal 5 Months

Occasionally my big sister will let me sit on her big girl bed, so here I am at one of those rare moments. She would have been in this picture had she not lost patience while my mom was situating me. Mom says she's working on the whole patience thing and that we must be patient with her...anyway enough about Lindsay, this is suppose to be about me. Since you last saw me I have become quite savvy with the spoon and eat much more than my mom thinks it is possible for a 5 month old to consume...needless to say I love food and oatmeal with bananas is my current favorite. I enjoy hanging out in my exersaucer and can become very belligerent when I have had enough...the entire house and neighbors in close proximity know when I am ready to exit that apparatus. I also recognize my name now and look up whenever it is said. Those are the latest and most exciting happenings in my life.

September 2008

Our girl is growing up so fast...and I know I have said that in numerous entries but when I look at these picture I see our first baby as such a little girl now. She went off to pre-school today with the cutest smiley face. She loves school (once she gets there) and comes home with stories about all her friends and who's gone pee on the potty and who hasn't...that is a big part of the two year old class...we're currently participating in that process and boy is it a process. The best part of Lindsay's pre-school experience is when she comes home singing the songs she learns and doing the finger plays which we can always count on her doing while she is trying to go to sleep each night...it's priceless!
