Happy 2nd Birthday Kendal!

Dear Kendal~ Two years ago today you arrived 4 weeks early. You were just a tiny little mite, weighing less than 6 pounds. I couldn't wait for you to meet your big sister Lindsay, who today is one of your best friends. You are a sweet young lady with a determination I admire. Kendal, you are growing so fast that sometimes I want to bottle the sweet moments we share together; singing "Baby Beluga" before you go to sleep, reading books, playing outside, and enjoying family time. Your big sister loves you so much and celebrates all your milestones right along with you. My hope is that you continue to grow and learn each day while being a kind, compassionate human being. I pray that you stay healthy and protected from any harm. I love you more than words can say and am so blessed to be your mommy! Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

We visited the LA Zoo last weekend. Perfect day, sunny but not too warm. Arrived when the zoo opened and avoided most of the crowds. The animals were amazing, especially the gorillas, giraffes and tiger. Dad pushed the stroller, which was great because there sure are a lot of hills. I doled out the snacks and drinks when needed (every 10 minutes). Kendal was done at about noon and let us know by screaming and crying for the last hour we were there (she's definitely two). Lindsay loved everything, though when asked what her "favorite" part was, she said shopping in the store at the end for her special treat...gotta love my little lady!

Sympathy Pains

Kendal comes to me on Sunday holding one of my slings and says while handing it to me "Mama put on uh-me, mama put on uh-me"...so I bound her up and she thought it was great...how come I don't share the same love for that sling!!

Pigtails

Just one precious girl with some cute pigtails!

Auntie Angela Visits

My dear friend Angela came into town last weekend to help her one-armed friend while Mike was in Las Vegas. We love when she visits! Funny how when a great friend shows up, you just can pick up where you left off...even if it has been a year. She brought the girls darling Easter dresses (wait till you see them), which of course both girls put on right away and immediately began twirling in them...and I am happy to say the dresses passed the twirl test with flying colors. We laughed, ate(Sees Candy Bridge Mix for dinner Friday night), shopped, played with the girls, talked late into the night(for us) and just completely enjoyed each other's company as true friends should. We love you Auntie Angela!!!

The Many Faces of Kendal Christine aka Mooseroni

Silly, snugly, sassy, smart, stubborn and soooooooo stinkin' cute! That's our girl!

I Wear My Sunglasses At Night...

The sunglasses were purchased for those times in the car when the girls are blinded by the sun (both get so upset they cry...fun!). Perhaps they thought these were 3D glasses as well...I found them here watching a movie (not 3D) with them on...silly girls!

Wagons, Bikes and Cozy Coupes

Our backyard is an obstacle course on any given day of the week. Aside from Mike's multiple tools, we have bikes, a wagon, a cozy coupe, playhouse, easel, chalk, push toys, pull toys, little people, plenty of bouncy toys oh, and a dog. The entertainment is endless. Lindsay recently scored a hand-me-down two wheel bike with training wheels that she learned how to maneuver on this particular day. Kendal likes her cozy coupe but prefers looking at the dirt on the bottom of her shoes (see below). Of course when Mike decides to do something under the house curiosity brings the entire family to the small crawl space door for a peek. Only pictures missing here are the ones of the dog pulling the girls in the wagon...so if you are out and about stop by the Syver play yard anytime!

Growing Up - Twenty Two Months

Our girl is getting so big. Kendal now goes to pre-school and loves it. By day two she didn't even cry when I left her...Lindsay on the other hand still cries...why is that? She loves school and her new friends. Kendal is beginning to use the potty (or at least trying to), talks up a storm, does not have a pacifier anymore (YES!) and has a clear understanding of what she likes and does not like...and lets us know. She enjoys playing for hours with her big sister. They get along a fair amount of the time. She plays dress-up, little people, princesses, babies...and many other things I cannot think of this early in the morning. Kendal is a great eater and will eat almost anything you put in front of her, surprisingly she eats beans, lentils, blueberries and any vegetable. She continues to be very determined (stubborn) and speaks her mind very clearly. We enjoy seeing her emerging personality. She's going to be two before we know it!

The White Coat

Aunt Nancy is taking Lindsay to Disney on Ice today. She bought her this special white coat with matching hat for the occasion. Since we have unwrapped the white coat it has been the main attraction in Lindsay's world. She would wear it to bed if we let her. She does wear it first thing in the morning and over her pj's after her bath at night. Though it is going to be 74 degrees today the coat will be worn no matter what. Lindsay's looking forward to her special day.

Babies Playin Babies

Playing babies when I was growing up was something my friends and I spent hours doing. Lindsay and Kendal are enjoying babies these days, especially Kendal. It makes me smile to see my babies carrying babies around the house all wrapped in blankets.
