Update on the Oldest Daughter

Lindsay is enjoying her little sister more each day and when she and Kendal play together Lindsay can make her laugh like no other. We practice sharing all the time (which really means we have taught Lindsay to give Kendal a different toy if she wants what Kendal has), Lindsay seems to always be interested in whatever Kendal is holding...even if it is a wrapper she found on the floor! Reading is one of her very favorite things and she now loves "Green Eggs and Ham". Mike was reading it aloud to her the other night and I guess wasn't too familiar with story (not sure how he missed that) when he started with the "you can eat them on a train, you can eat them in the rain" part and realized the wordiness of the story he let out an "are you kidding me"...I just laughed and walked away...once he got into the rhythm he really enjoyed it...perhaps it was a bit antimidating at the beginning...it sure gave me a good laugh though. Lindsay will now sit and read to any of her stuffed animals willing to listen. She is doing wonderfully at pre-school and each time I pick her up she lets all the teachers know she'll be back. The funniest moment we've had with her lately is when she recently called "corn on the cob", "corn on the cock"...that statement sure makes for some good conversation wherever I go...she does know how to say it properly now but got such a reaction out of me saying it the incorrect way that she prefers to say it her way...ugh!
