Lindsay Jane
I cannot neglect to write about my big girl...after writing a week ago about my youngest angel.
Cautious...is what comes to my mind first.
She is no dare devil...
she has to REALLY be comfortable with something
before trying it.
Yesterday she had a play date at the Levine's house with her friends Ryann and Racie.
The have a pretty awesome pool with a slide made of stone...
Mrs. Levine told me when I arrived to pick Lindsay up that she stated earlier
she wasn't sure she'd be trying out the slide this time around...
but...much to both of our surprise and delight,
her fear disappeared and she took the plunge and loved it...
Lindsay's cautiousness also takes over when trying rides at Disneyland
or trying new foods...
the girl knows her comfort zone...and does not like to sway from the path.
She has done so well transitioning from one school to another,
and in that respect she has been quite the contrary.
Kids are so funny...always surprising us.
We spend alot more time together talking...
as our morning 45 minute commute allows us time to bond.
I like that.
She can be difficult and stubborn, but no more than your normal 6 year old.
Lindsay is very caring.
Always concerned about the well-being of her friends,
expressing her worry if someone from her class went home sick or got hurt on the playground.
She takes time to warm up to people sometimes.
For instance...her Poppy...
she took a while to warm up to him...
which was interesting to me...
as he is my favorite person...
fortunately the two were able to bond last year when he use to take and pick her up at school a few days a week.
She enjoyed reading the funnies with him in the car...
and she still loves going to the grocery store with him...
(who wouldn't he always use to buy me whatever I wanted)
Lindsay likes making lists.
When accompanying Popster to the market...
she loves having a list with her.
When we went to Disneyland in October,
She had her list of things we needed to do while there.
Lindsay loves animals...
and has a mountain of stuffed animals in her room...
but is always asking for more.
She has recently become a Daisy...and is taking her pledge very seriously,
and she constantly asks me what a "good Samaritan" does.
She is going to be a mouse in the Nutcracker...and practiced her "prancing" diligently.
and our lives changed for the better the day she joined our family.
xoxo
